The following pictures and drawings will help you determine how your septic tank lids are configured.

The Septic Tank is generally located approximately 5 ft off the house in line with the lowest bathroom or Kitchen

With 20 Years of experience Locating and Digging Septic Tank lids it is as if Owner

1975 – 1980 to Present (Two Compartment)

This tank can have 2 main 24″ lids or 2 main lids and 2 small Baffle lids at both ends of tank directly above the inlet and outlet baffle

1990 to Present (Two Compartment with Pump Tank)

Locate Your Tank Using Your County AS-BUILT

An As-Built drawing is a diagram of the septic system and shows where the septic tank, Pump Tank (if there is one), the D-Box and drainfield lines are located as well as any other buildings such as sheds, garages, pools, etc on the property. King County requires that an As-Built is submitted with the OSS Inspection paperwork – If KC does not have an as-built on file that can be submitted, then Lilly’s Master Installer | Professional OSM’s must draw a Certified scale as-built drawing to be turned into KC with the Septic Inspection paperwork. Fee applies and will be quoted (if necessary) at time of booking.

If nothing is on file… then request a copy of your as-built by calling the health department directly at 206-477-8050. OR Lilly’s septic (OSSM) Inspection coordinator will obtain the As-Built via email (If one is available in the paper archives) from KC Health Dept for no charge after booking your Inspection appointment. If there is no as-built available, the county will require Lilly’s O&M Inspector to draw a certified As-Built to submit with the inspection paperwork.

You will be looking for 2 lids like these if there are risers on the tank.

Riser lids can be below the surface which will require locating and digging the riser lid as well
